Sunny days....

The other day we had GORGEOUS weather so we went outside..
Here are a few pics I took....

some pic of some kind of berry on some kind of tree...
Carissa ~ 4 years old

Micah ~ NEARLY 3
(but if you ask him, he's 4... ha ha ha)

The view from our patio out the back door of our daylight basement.
It's so nice having a play area for the kiddo's!

what am i forgetting?

i'm off this weekend to our church's women's retreat. a friend of mine, and i are leading the worship sessions and we're really excited about it... but i can't help but feel like i'm completely spacing some major thing... i did go to the grocery store today - i got fish sticks, tator tots, mac and cheese, and cereal and milk. eric should be set b/w that and the ham, eggs, cheese, and crackers in the house. doesn't it sound like good daddy and kid food?! i've considered having a casserole in the fridge for him to throw in the oven... but honestly - if it doesn't happen, eric will be JUST fine. he does great when i'm gone - tho he ALWAYS appreciates me extra when i get home :)

we're headed out in the afternoon and hoping to get up there early and get a good run thru some songs after we get the keyboard and sound system set up. i have to go get a lesson in being tech savvy this afternoon... we didn't schedule to meet until RIGHT before we left.. that way I surely couldn't forget the important information! Ha ha!!

the kids seem healthy... noah's been temp free for a few days now - so here's hoping it all stays away while i'm gone.

i am nearly giddy with anticipation be go get a whole night's sleep (doesn't mean it will be long though with all us women's gabbering) w/o kid potty breaks, cries for "I tirsty", and screams from "naughty dreams" or scary sounds... a night w/o having to kick the cat off the bed b/c she keeps crawling up on my feet or the back of my knees... a night where i don't have to get up to put the binky back in the baby's mouth and a night where i am NOT heating up a bottle to shove in the wailing, yet eager lips of Joey! and guess what... i get 2 nights like this!!! can you say CLOUD9?! :)

JAILBIRD JOEY

LIL JAILBIRD HAS TAKEN TO STANDING AND HE'S TAKEN TO RATTLING THE BABY-GATE AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS. IT DOES TEND TO CAUSE A BIT OF PANIC IN ME, EVEN THOUGH THE GATE IS BOLTED INTO THE WALL. IT'S NOT GOING TO GIVE WAY, BUT THERE IS STILL SOMETHING UNCOMFORTABLE ABOUT LOOKING UP TO THE TOP OF THE STAIRS AND SEEING YOUR HAPPY GUY STANDING THERE, SHAKING THE GATE WITH ALL HIS MIGHT! HAHA.... I THINK HE LOOKS SO OLD IN THIS PICTURE. (sigh) HE'S COMING UP ON 9 MONTHS IN JUST OVER A WEEK. TIME HAS SURE FLOWN SINCE HE WAS BORN!! I AM HAPPY TO SEE HE'S GETTING BACK TO HIS NORMAL SMILEY SELF THOUGH. WHILE HE'S BEEN DOWN WITH THE "OOKIES" (RSV, BRONCHIALITIS) HE WAS VERY SOMBER AND SAD... WHICH IF YA KNOW HIM, YA KNOW THAT'S NOT OUR JOSIAH-BOY... SO ENJOY THE VIEW :)

the ookies were here

our household has had both of the nasty viral bugs running around the county. we had the tummy bug first - hitting mostly just the adults (minus myself). then came temps and fatigue and tired and lack of appetite in the kids... lastly i got sick....with the upper respiratory nastiness... it started with fever (peaked at 104.2... at which point i was in the fetal position in bed, crying, moaning, and repeating to myself "i want my mommy"... how is it that the most natural thought and desire when sick is to have your mom there to take care of you? probably b/c as mom's it's OUR job to take care of everyone else)..... fatigue, chills, and a nasty chest cough.

oh and in the middle of everything was josiah with RSV and Bronchialitis... not to mention the 2 ER visits for breathing treatments (after the 2nd trip they decided to send us home with a nebulizer and RX for albuterol).... poor lil man has decided to teeth on top of it all and has 2 top teeth ready to rupture thru his lil gums, any second. oh yes, fun times.

the good news is that we're on the upswing. noah missed a week of school. he just held on to that fever and would NOT let go. he got back to school on a thursday, took the spelling test Friday and only missed ONE word out of the 14 possible. way to go noah! he must get his spelling skills from his momma!

the bathroom in our downstairs home is nearing completion. the framing is just about done, the piping for the tub was moved (long story, won't go into it now), and the plumbers will be back on thursday to put in the toilet, sink, and tub. this weekend we'll sheetrock the room and i am THRILLED. having a bathroom downstairs is going to make a world of difference in my everyday life.... no running with lil kids for the bathroom during the day or stumbling up the stairs in the semi-dark at night while they are groggy... :)

the rest of the household is in bed.... i need to get myself there as well as it's 11:23 pm.... yawn.
