Noah completed his first week of school and he's doing great! His teacher had surgery on her arm yesterday. She'll be back to school on Monday. He has already missed her this week and is looking forward to her return ;)
Micah and Carissa are in the swing of things with the day to day stuff w/o big brother around. They are either each other's best-friend or worst enemy. I guess that's how sibling stuff works though :)
Last night Noah and Carissa had their first night back to AWANA. Carissa got to go to cubbies for the first time and she was thrilled. Last night at the dinner table she was sharing her enthusiasm and Micah chimed in, "I wanna go too" to which Carissa said, "Oh Micah, are you gonna miss me?" and he replied woefully, "yeah..." :( She looked at me and restated, "Micah's gonna miss me, mom." LOL
i thought i'd add a picture that i LOVE. RARELY is it that Carissa has the upper hand with Micah. Even though he is 14 months younger he is bigger than she is (in weight and they are about equal in height). This was taken last summer.

That picture is so funny!! I love it.
This just CRACKS ME UP!!! I was laughing so hard and Will came over to see. He said, "Hey, tell her the girl is doing a classic rear choke hold! She's got a really deep hook. Pretty good, except normally they'd be on the ground." Nothing like a teenager to take the funny out of a hilarious picture! LOL
Reminds me of the time when Mary and Katie were maybe 4 and 3 (or a year older than that). We were in Walmart and Katie, who is always the victim, got mad at Mary for some reason. All I saw was her haul off and punch Mary really hard on the arm (well, as hard as a 3yo can!). The look on Mary's face was one of total shock and pain. When Katie saw that she hurt her sister, something snapped. All those years of being the victim came to mind and she got this evil look on her face, laughed a scary laugh, and hauled off and punched her again. It was all I could do to keep from laughing hysterically! But, alas, i stopped the action, scolding Katie. Later, I pulled Mary aside and asked her how she felt when Katie hit her. We talked about that was how Katie probably always felt when she was being mean to her. Behavior changed quite a bit that day. LOL
Hi Charity, thanks for finding me!! Your kids are beyond adorable-- I need to take an afternoon to get all caught up on your life. Once the dust settles for us, I'd love to get together with you. My brother lives in Olympia, so we go up your way ever month or so. Take care!
