It runs in the family

Carissa has a passion and love for paper and pens! As a little girl, I remember asking for paper, tablets, stationary, pens, and anything related for every birthday and Christmas. Last night, Carissa got her first desk! We've been looking on Craigslist for a while. Late last week I came across one and for the last week the owner and I have played email tag and we finally got to hook up last night to look at it. I took Carissa with me and we went to see it. She fell in love immediately. As you can see below, she loves her mommy too.... this was just ONE of the thank you hugs I got :o)

And here's my sweet girl and her desk! The bottom is painted white and the top is refinished nicely! It has 1 drawer in the front and then 3 on the left side. Last night we went through all her "treasured" papers (she's also a packrat!) and purged out a bunch. As you can tell, she loves art and drawing and writing. Her closet door is one of the only places she's allowed to "tape" up stuff... ha ha ...

When I told her she was doing a great job she smiled and said, "I'm doing quality work, Mom."
When I agreed with her, she said... "I should do this at school." I started to laugh. She said, "No, I mean for free choice, I should do art..." HAHA!

Proud new owner :o)

50 mile club

Every Friday at school the kids are encouraged to do a program called Mileage Club. They earn tickets for laps and the miles are added as the year goes. Noah hit the 50 mile club this last week. He earned this snazzy shirt for the awesome accomplishment! Today in the assembly at school he was the only one recognized for hitting the 50 mile mark. So far, about 6 or 7 kids have made it throughout the school. One boy has actually made the 100 mile club! Next year Noah's goal is to run farther than this year... He'd love to shoot for 100! :) I'm so unbelievably proud of him!!!!
