So yesterday (May 28th) the kids and I packed into the Expedition and took a roadtrip to go meet my cyber friend, Becky! She and I have known each other "online" for a few years and she and her hubby and kiddo's just moved to a few hours from us! In need of a day trip, we hit the road. What a blessing friends are! Cyber or otherwise! But to meet and click so easily with someone you've never met IRL (in real life) is all the sweeter!!! Her kids and my kids played great together and a wonderful day was had by all! LOVE YOU BECKY!
On the way to Becky's we stopped at a campground to use the potty's. I ended up letting the kids play for a bit and stretch their legs. Here's my artsy pic of Carissa blowing a dandelion.

Carissa looks like such a big girl in this picture! Today we went and had her shots for school next year. She was incredibly brave and didn't look anxious UNTIL the shots appeared! Then there were a few tears upon injection and then she was fine. AFter I looked at her records (while filling them out for school) it showed she'd had the MMR today - but she'd already had the MMR twice. I called the nurse. She said a 3rd MMR won't hurt. But of course it was the "stinger" of the 2 she got. Oh well. All her paperwork is turned in and we now await August and her "First day of school"! She's SO excited and ready.
Here's the baby! Joey fell off the swing shortly after this picture. Ha ha ha.. Poor guy. He went all day yesterday w/o a nap until we hit the car at 5:15. He slept for about 45 minutes, woke up with a cramp in his neck (I think) and then screamed for the next 30 minutes! OIY!!! He was asleep this morning in the car after the doc appt at 10 am. Think he missed his nap yesterday? YUP! So, he's back down for an afternoon nap now...
Noah was in school yesterday so he didn't get to go on our lil adventure but he and Eric will come next time we head down to visit.
And now maybe nap time will commence.... :)

Check out Micah and his wheels!
SO, I totally forgot to post that Micah (4 years old) is now riding on 2 wheels and not 4!!! He's been racing around on his training wheels and mentioned taking them off one day a week or 2 ago. I thought, "Sure, he'll get frustrated and quit but why not....."
So, I took them off and told him we'd practice in the backyard on the grass first! Within minutes he'd got several feet alone. He's got a great sense of balance!!
That evening after dinner, once Eric was home, we took to the culdesac and set him loose! Here he is! He's amazing on his wheels! I often have to look away - fearing he's going to bite it something bad... but he recovers every single time and catches himself!

Today we had temps in the upper 80's. Who knows, maybe even low 90's. HOT HOT HOT.
Eric's been feeling under the weather so he missed out on the summer like fun. I got some great color on my arms and shoulders. The kids were slathered up with SPF 50 :)

PHOTO contest UPDATE :) and IRIS pics
My iris's bloomed this week. I took a few pictures of them. It was so WINDY which was frustrating... but I still managed to get a few that I really liked. Hope you enjoy them.
SO... I won the contest!!! I am winning a hand selected bead kit from Brazil. The blog holding the contest is made up of missionary mom's and they are welcoming all moms to frequent the blog (and they've even told me they'd welcome me to joining their team in writing for the blog... still praying on that one).
