Cherry Cobbler by Behr

So, I love RED. I've always wanted RED in my kitchen!! Now that we have our OWN house, I did it. It's called Cherry Cobbler and it's made by Behr. :) This is the view from the mini bar where my computer monitor and keyboard are set up. I was being a WAY cool mom and letting Carissa and Micah paint with watercolors.

This it the view from the entryway into the kitchen. That door at the back is to the back door. You can also see the deep freeze back there.
This wall we painted "Stone", also by Behr. I love it!!
This is the view from the stove. That counter has been the catch all for all things so far but I'm determined to get it cleared and decluttered SOON. We still need to add the leaf into our table. When we do it is going to cut down on some walk space in the kitchen. But we'll work with it :)
This is the view from the table. We absolutely love being able to see from the kitchen into the living room. Above the sink you can see a narrow bar. It isn't functional for eating at - but it's a perfect width for the keyboard. My monitor will be mounted onto the wall to the right of the white cupboards. That wall is painted "Stone" and is also by Behr. It's the same color that the living room is painted as well.
So, there you have it. A mini tour of my kitchen.

Carissa's bedroom

So forgive me, they are slightly blurry... Here's the view of her bed. We got that day bed for $40 off craigslist. Her clothes drawers fit under her bed b/c it's quite high so that works out well.

This is the view from the doorway looking in. That tall bookshelf is anchored to the wall, don't worry! It won't be going ANYWHERE! :) The brown corner unit may get moved - or at the very least painted if it stays long term.
This it the view from her bed. The dark wall is directly to the left when you walk in the room. That dresser/desk will get painted white also.
She very very pleased with her room. It isn't a finish product,YET.... we plan to put some stenciling on the wall and a few pictures. But furniture wise she's got everything she'll need/get. We're really pleased with the 2 colors of "turquoise" that we chose too.

hey, what do you know... and UPDATE on us! :)

So, last week i typed out a big ole post and at right at the end of it, it got erased b/c my palms were moving the mouse on this laptop! I was NOT happy! argh! Anyway - I have a few minutes so I thought I'd update on life in the new house.

Lets see... we got keys on Monday, August 11th. When we got the keys from our realtor he sighed and said, "I feel like there's going to be a void in my life!" We've been working with Tony for nearly 5 years as we've patiently (and sometimes NOT so patiently) waited for the house God desired for us to have.

We came and looked at the house again. The kids ran from one end to the other and such :) It didn't take them long. It is still a "cozy" (you ALL know in real estate cozy = small, right? hee hee) little home, but we are ever so grateful for it and love that it is "ours"..

We were then off for Home Depot where we bought paint .... and as soon as we got home, we started in on painting. Eric started in the living room with the color "stone" and I started in the kitchen with "cherry cobbler" red. We painted Tuesday and started moving stuff into our house on Wed and Thurs. We had the moving truck (FREE) from the "Buyer's Agent" so we pushed hard to get it all done. We had a buddy friend of Eric's help out on Thursday.

That weekend I had a local worship conference to attend so Eric had the kids Friday evening and the better part of the day Saturday.

We painted the kids' rooms as well. The 3 boys have a 2 tone blue room and Carissa has a 2 tone turquoise room. They are both VERY cute. We haven't painting our bedroom yet, as it's really still the catch all for everything.

The kids have met the neighborhood kids. They appear to be the youngest on the block. We have "only child" boys that live on either side of us. They are "MORE" than willing to play with the kids... coming and knocking on the door multiple times a day asking to play. Because we live on the end of the culdesac it's really nice b/c the kids play down here. And Noah, Carissa, and Micah can ride out in the "Circle" and i can see them :)

Eric started back to school last week. This week on tuesday school officially starts. Noah's excited about his 1st grade teacher and class. :)

Eric and I celebrated 10 years of marriage on Friday. We ran around doing "house" type shopping and got icecream at coldstone. yuuuum.

My eyes are crossing. I'm sleepy. Too many late nights in a row.

OH, be in prayer for Carissa. She's going to need her tonsils OUT here in the next month or so.

And we've SIGNED our names a zillion times!

Just a quick update to say that we got to sign our papers today at the title company. Should everything go as it should we will get the keys for the house tomorrow. Should there be a hiccup in the process, we'll get them early next week. We are so excited to be homeowners and are so grateful for God's blessings.

The first thing on the list to do will be checking out how much cleaning needs to be done and getting some rooms painted!!!

It's late - I'm exhausted - but wanted to quickly let the world know we're almost DONE! :)

Home away from home....

On the 30th we finished moving out of our rental and moved in with our friend's. We have gone from a family of 6 to a family of 10 :) it's quite a FUN house!

They are gone for the weekend and we get to watch the kitty and doggy and eat their food! wahoo! LOL

I saw and talked with our mortgage lender today... come to find out we were missing a copy of my Social Security card. Um.. yah, i'll get right on finding that in the garage in the friend's house - in a box, in the middle of the pile.... sigh.

We got there and the file with "Charity's important documents" is missing... hmm... they are SOMEWHERE... but i ended up having to sit at the SS office for 30 min to get a verification of my SSN to take to the lender for her to give to the underwriter. it was the last missing piece of info. so all our paperwork should be on it's way to the title/escrow company and we're NEARLY done with this whole process.

Would you pray with us?! We're really praying that we can have keys by Friday! We'd love to have this weekend to do some work at the house and such... Time is running out before school starts!!!

Oh, and i forgot to update you about our cat. we actually got to bring her with us!!! our friend's have a cat and dog and to them it was no biggie! Dixie (our cat) has hid pretty much the whole time so it's hardly like she isn't here! LOL

So, there's an update on us. We're so close (and yet so far) to being in our HOME!!!!!
