For Father's Day, I got the idea from a friend to take pictures of the kids feet/legs and add a saying and frame it for Eric. The following is what I came up with. In the first one you can't see Noah's legs but you can see his feet (behind Josiah's). In the next one I sat them all out on the grass. Can you figure out whose piggies belong to whom? :) What is hysterical about this picture is that at first I completely discounted it because of the mayhem and chaos on the TOP half of the picture. OH my! Josiah is screaming, Micah's looking off into the bushes, Noah's trying to talk Josiah down and holding his arms UP, and Carissa is smiling sweetly and spreading her toes with joy. ha ha ha :)
These were put into a "floating" frame with a phrase printed out and placed in between them.
It really turned out beautifully!!! I'm sure I'll be trying it again :)

Our "NEW" ride!!
So, for some time now we have been without a vehicle that our whole family of 6 could sit in, AND all be buckled up in. Our '98 Dodge Grand Caravan just didn't last our family like we were expecting it to. After all the horrendous issues we had, we (w/o reluctance) sold IT! Eric and I had been praying for quite some time that God would provide JUST the right vehicle for us. We knew what we wanted. We knew what we could afford. We knew what was for sale by owner in town, and we knew those 3 criteria didn't line up in a way that made us feel ready to BUY. We continued to hold out (amidst the frustration and Eric's sore behind and back from sitting in the back of our old Explorer as I took corners...forgetting he was BACK there! HA!). I was checking Craigslist daily and we were looking into options to see how we could make what we DID have work for our family. I came across an ad for a 1998 Expedition and the price was several thousand dollars less that most ALL the other Expeditions in the valley. For whatever reason, we sat on it for a few days and then I made the call.
They still had it. We set up a time we could all look at and test drive it. As we pulled up and the owners came out, low and behold they knew "MR. C". It's a small world, huh?! They were connected to Eric through the school he teaches at. We each took a short test drive and both really loved it.
Below is what *I* got to drive home that night!!! :) It seats 8 passengers!!! NOW, we ALL have seat belts.... and best of all, I don't have to drive every time when we go out as a family!!!
It's much higher than our Explorer is. I have to step up on the running boards on the side as I get in. But it handles very nicely which is great! And, since we're just about the biggest thing on the road (except for the BIG trucks and semi's) I feel pretty safe too. I take EXTRA caution however now w/ kids and people in parking lots b/c there ARE blind spots when backing up.
So there ya have it. OUR sweet "NEW" BLESSING from the Lord.

The GRINNING Graduate!
Noah has FINISHED Kindergarten! Can you believe it?! Today is his last day of school. It's a half day which basically consists of an assembly! He is excited because after today he's a "real 1st grader!" :) So fun.
